Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara
Costs approximately $7
I really wanted to love this mascara! From the claims Revlon makes, this is supposed to make your lashes grow… the site claims that the “Lash enhancing formula complements the natural growth cycle of your lashes, improving their overall appearance and conditioning with each use.” I don’t deny that this is a great mascara for conditioning lashes, and it feels very light, but as with most cosmetic names, this will be deceiving to many!
I do 100% adore the formula of this mascara. It is soft and feels very natural on the eyes (many mascaras will dry out your lashes and make them feel stiff). I don’t have to work incredibly hard to remove this, and it also doesn’t flake or smudge at all. When used correctly, it lengthens the lashes well and gives volume without clumping. Sounds great right?!
But I just can’t love this mascara overall, simply because of the brush. It’s HUGE. Revlon writes that it is an “Oversized, lash-extending brush”, and oversized is an understatement. The brush itself is a little over an inch long, and it’s fat as well. The bristles are long, which could almost make up for it, but in the end this mascara is just too difficult to apply neatly. Even I manage to smudge this on my lashline, and I have very long lashes already. In fact, I received this mascara from a friend, who has very short lashes… she said it was impossible to use, and after a single use she passed it on to me.
Not only is the brush too large, but it also collects too much mascara… to the point where you can’t really wipe enough off to make it useable. Even though this doesn’t clump your lashes, since the brush is so large, the excess product on the brush is quite problematic.
So unfortunately, I’ll have to give this a Thumbs Down… well, let’s say a Thumb in the middle. It has so much potential! But for now it shall sit in my mascara drawer, mostly unused.
